Frankie Valli at 900 Shops: Oh, what a day! Meet Frankie Valli and the cast of "Jersey Boys" at Frankie’s Scallopine & 5th Floor Pizzeria in The 900 Shops (http://www.shop900.com/events/35) on Saturday, April 18 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Festivities begin with a special Magnificent Mile arrival followed by an opportunity to see legendary music icon Frankie Valli and cast members from "Jersey Boys" and share a special Italian feast. Frankie’s four-course, “Four Seasons” menu at $19.63 will be served throughout the day and night in honor of the occasion. All guests will receive a Jersey Boys gift, and there will be a drawing for other Jersey Boys autographed memorabilia. Lunch reservations are suggested. All shoppers at The 900 Shops on April 18 will receive a special ticket offer for Jersey Boys. Additionally, with purchases of $100 or more, same-day receipts may be brought to the first level Concierge Desk to receive a free Jersey Boys CD sampler (while supplies last) and the chance to win two premium tickets to Jersey Boys, dinner for two at Frankie’s and an overnight stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago.

Arbor Week: It may seem a bit redundant for an arboretum to celebrate Arbor Week, but Morton Arboretum is making it a family affair with several special events (http://www.mortonarb.org/?option=com_content&view=article&id=960&Itemid=4). To begin, take the family to meet a real astronaut and learn why he has planted 140,000 trees in the presentation “Observations from Space.” Former Atlantis space shuttle astronaut Mark Lee shows behind-the-scenes video of space shuttle training, preparation, and voyages into space, and talks about how trees help our planet. In the drop-in activity “The New Tree Times,” kids make a plant container from a newspaper, and then plant a tree seed to take home and grow. Brand new is “The Green Boutique,” an eco-experience that informs visitors about the many green choices in the marketplace, from environmentally-friendly cleaning products to home decor to cosmetics to luxury apparel for all ages. Visit representatives from eco-friendly product lines who will discuss and offer some products for purchase onsite. These activities and more take place on Sunday, April 19.

The Aztec World Ends: This marks the final weekend of The Aztec World at Field Museum (http://www.fieldmuseum.org/aztecs/). Take this last chance to explore the grandeur and sophistication of one of history's greatest civilizations and find out how a community that began in the middle of a lake eventually became the capital of an empire. Hundreds of artifacts and works of art assembled together for the first time provide a look into the remarkable rise and fall of The Aztec World. Objects crafted from gold, silver, obsidian, jade, and other precious materials tell the epic story of the Aztecs. The exhibit explores the everyday lives of men and women at all levels of society and examines their roles in an empire whose legacy lives on today in modern Mexico.

CAFamily Studio Sunday: The Chicago Architectural Foundation is making Chicago a greener place (http://www.architecture.org/cafamily.html) in this month’s CAFamily Studio Sunday, “City in a Garden.” In the free event, kids can design a new park space for the city, add to the recycled tree, and take a walking tour of the gardens around the City of Chicago. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The event takes place Sunday, April 19, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Chicago Opera Theater: While it’s not exactly Mozart’s lost opera, it has been absent from Chicago stages in more than a generation. So, Chicago Opera Theater kicks off its 2009 Spring Festival Season on April 18 with Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito (http://www.chicagooperatheater.org/tix/season/tito.html). The opera has made a resurgence in the rest of the world, most notably in New York City last year at the Metropolitan Opera and at the Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival. COT performs at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park, and will present La clemenza di Tito for 5 performances on April 18, 21, 26, 29 and May 1.
