Rite of Spring: Grey skies are clearing up, and alfresco dining in NoMI Garden (http://www.nomirestaurant.com/gallery/nomi/setting/garden.html) is definitely a reason to put on a happy face. NoMI has re-opened the terrace (barring rain showers or a late season cold spell). The secluded seventh floor spot is a summertime sanctuary for those craving cocktails and appetizers or a casual bite for lunch or dinner. The menu features contemporary salads, small plates and sandwiches. Also available throughout the day is a selection of fresh sushi and sashimi pieces and platters, flown in daily and prepared by NoMI’s sushi chefs. For drink aficionados, the cocktails of choice this summer will be Caipirinhas, the national drink of Brazil.

You can also find an assortment of beautiful Seder plates, Matzah covers and trays, Passover cookbooks, fun frogs and other toys.

Decades of Dames: Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play, The Heidi Chronicles (http://theatreschool.depaul.edu/theatre_school_showcase_0708_heidi.php) masterfully captures the evolving role of women over three decades. In this story of female independence in a male-dominated world, author Wendy Wasserstein infuses wit and smart dialogue in this comical and sincere ride through history. The show runs Friday, April 18 – Sunday, April 27 at DePaul's Merle Reskin Theatre.
