Holiday Entertaining Class at Cuatro: Muddle mojitos, create Coquinhos and more at Cuatro’s Holiday Entertaining Class (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/host_cities/1-chicago/directories/177-cuatro). On Saturday, Dec. 13 from 1-3 p.m., Executive Chef Edie Jiminez will teach libations and appetizers, during this very interactive and fun class. Guests will muddle pomegranate mojitos, create Coquinho cocktails, prepare empanadas de cangrejo (crab empanadas) and pastel de cangrejo (mini crab cakes) - all party pleasers. The class will include some in-kitchen prep work, as well as "bartending" in the bar area. Cuatro will provide departure gift bags that hold recipe cards, a complimentary appetizer certificate for a future visit, mini 10Cane bottle and more. Cost: $30. Empanadas de Cangrejo: Fresh crab and goat cheese filled dumplings, pico de gallo, avocado salsa cruda. Coquinho: Vanilla bean infused 10Cane rum, muddled fresh pineapple, coconut milk, pineapple juice. Granada Mojito: pomegranate juice, muddled key limes and mint leaves, sugar cane juice, splash of soda. Pastel de Cangrejo: pan seared crab cake, mango pico de gallo, chipolte aoili, topped with cilantro.

In keeping with the concept of "dana" which means "the pleasure of giving," the hotel's package was inspired by Chicagoan Shel Silverstein's beloved book, The Giving Tree. Dana's Pleasure of Giving ($455 per night based on double occupancy) includes: overnight accommodations for two, a copy of The Giving Tree, a 50-minute Cinnamon Vanilla Hot Stone Couples Massage, a specialty Sidecar for two "up on the rooftop" at Vertigo, and breakfast-in-bed featuring a seasonal menu from ajasteak.

12 Bars of Christmas: Nothing says “merry” like a visit to twelve of Wrigleyville’s finest establishments. The 13th annual 12 Bars of Christmas Pub Crawl (http://www.shopfesta.com/tbox) returns this Saturday, Dec. 13 beginning at 10 a.m. The $30 ticket includes admission to some 30 spots and drink specials. After the start, the crawl splits into two groups (a record-setting 4,200 people participated last year), joining up again at the last bar. The exact route is only available to participants. Please note: This is a walking tour; no buses or trolleys are provided for transportation. Participating bars include: Cubby Bear, Casey Moran's, Yak-Zies, Trace, The Full Shilling, Bar Louie,Harry Caray's Tavern, Bernie's, The Dugout Sports Bar & Grill, Vines on Clark, Sluggers Sports Bar, Wild Hare, Moe's Cantina, Mullen's on Clark, Red Ivy, Tryst, John Barleycorn, Blarney Stone, Redmond's.

America: All Better! The end of the elections is only the beginning of comedic fodder as far as the Second City is concerned. This Friday, Dec. 14 marks the start of their new revue, America: All Better! (http://www.secondcity.com/?id=theatres/chicago/mainstage). As SC tells it: “Its official - the United States is moving forward. We have a new President taking office, sweeping international economic crisis, and the effects of global warming all around us. It's time to fire up the Rahminator and transplant a little Midwestern charm to Washington making ‘America: All Better!’" Runs through January 31.

Caroling at Cloud Gate: On Friday nights through December 19, Millennium Park is home to the city’s newest holiday tradition, Caroling at Cloud Gate (http://www.millenniumpark.org). Then night begins with the beautiful voices of a variety of choral groups, followed by a holiday sing-along. The choral performances begin at 6 p.m.; the sing-along begins at 6:30 p.m. Each evening, both the choristers and those singing along are invited to hold holiday candles. The reflection of the candles twinkles in the stainless steel of Cloud Gate, creating a magical holiday scene in the center of the city. Complimentary coffee and hot apple cider, top off each evening. This Friday, Dec. 12 the Chicago Chamber Choir will perform.
