Pizza in Chicago: Thin is in…for some. Others prefer a little heft to their pies. Can’t decide which way you sway? See a wealth of Chicago pizza-related coverage in our current issue with a feature story dealing with the struggle between the classic “Deep-Dish vs. Thin Crust” debate. The Windy City has plenty of spots to satiate both sides of the pan. And be sure to peruse our new online guide to a piece of Chicago-style pizza history (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/guides/91) with a profile on Rudy Malnati, Jr., of Pizano’s Pizza & Pasta. If you weren’t hungry before you started reading, you’ll surely be so afterwards.

All Pistons Firing: The 100th Chicago Auto Show (http://www.chicagoautoshow.com), the largest of its kind in North America, is also the first auto show to reach 100. New cars from more than 50 companies share space at McCormick Place. Check out the latest models from names like Aston Martin or Lamborghini. You’ll find concept cars, new models, fuel-efficient versions, hybrids and more. The week-long event features Women’s Day, food drives, autographs and many more offerings. The event opens to the public Friday, Feb. 8 and runs through Feb. 17. Tickets $10, $5 for seniors and children.

Spread the Love: Geja’s Café (http://www.gejascafe.com) is so notoriously romantic that it can’t even contain it’s Valentine’s celebration to one day, but instead is taking an entire week. For eight days from Sunday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 17, the restaurant will be lavishly decorated and feature sparkling champagne, carriage rides around Lincoln Park, live flamenco and classical guitarists, long-stemmed roses, and delicious sizzling hot fondue cuisine. All package prices include tax and gratuity. The Valentine’s Dinner Package includes Geja’s creamy Gruyere cheese fondue, a glass of champagne, Geja’s salad with tangy Dijon vinaigrette, entrée fondue of Beef Tenderloin, Lobster Tail and Jumbo Shrimp, Geja’s luscious flaming chocolate dessert fondue with coffee, plus a long stemmed rose. Events for the eight day Valentine’s Festival celebration include: Double Anniversary Discount on Monday, February 11th. With proof of total years married, couples will receive a double discount on their food purchases. For example, couples wed 15 years will receive a 30% food discount. Romantic Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides through the streets of Lincoln Park are free with the purchase of one Premiere Fondue Dinner per person on Tuesday, February 12th. They will also be available with dinner packages on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Hail to the Rat: Who says February is dreary and gray? Check out the most colorful celebration in town at the Chinese New Year Parade (http://www.chicagodragons.com/community.html). Celebrate the Year of the Rat, 4706, at this spectacle featuring a 100-foot-long dragon float and the traditional Chinese lion dance, plus marching bands and special floats. The parade begins in Chinatown (http://www.chicagochinatown.org/) at Wentworth Avenue and 24th Street, then heads north on Wentworth to Cermak Road. Start time is 1 p.m.

Art with Bite: The Shedd Aquarium takes a turn at playing art gallery, at least for the evening. National artists will display their works and create new works on-site at the inaugural ArtSharks benefit (http://www.sheddaquarium.org/artsharks) on Friday, Feb. 8. See a piece you like? Take note of it and make a mad dash for it later in the evening when your name is called in a random drawing. If someone else has snagged your favorite, run for another piece, but be quick--names are called every 10 seconds. Includes an open bar, appetizers and dinner. The events starts at 6 p.m. Tickets $450-$3,000.
