Gilded Art: The golden season of summer festivals continues with the revered Gold Coast Art Fair (http://www.amdurproductions.com/gold-coast.html (http://http://www.amdurproductions.com/gold-coast.html)). The 51st annual festival in the River North gallery district features work from 300 juried artists, food and wine vendors, music, glass blowing demos and more. Ted Allen, host of Food Network's "Food Detectives" show, will lead cooking demonstrations and discuss winemaking and wine pairing on Saturday, Aug. 9. The fair runs from Friday, Aug. 8-Sun. Aug. 10 and is free. The hours run: Aug. 8: 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.; August 9: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; August 10: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Fly Thee to the Moon: The MSI is the site of the Chicago premiere of “The Wonder of It All” on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. (http://www.msichicago.org/whats-here/events/chicago-film-premier-the-wonder-of-it-all/ (http://http://www.msichicago.org/whats-here/events/chicago-film-premier-the-wonder-of-it-all/)) The film is a documentary focusing on the rarely told human side of the men behind the Apollo missions expressed through thoughtful and candid accounts from seven of the surviving 12 Moonwalkers. Astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Alan Bean, Edgar Mitchell, John Young, Charles Duke, Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt reflect on their childhood, training, the tragedies, the camaraderie and the effect their space travel had on their families. This film weaves the astronauts’ insightful interviews with rarely seen private family photos and NASA archival footage to poignantly tell their unique story. The film’s director, creator and writer, Jeffrey Roth, will offer introductory remarks before the film and will answer member questions after the screening. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 3-17, both members and non-members.

To Market, To Market: It’s become the Midwest’s largest outdoor two-day festival. What is it? Northalsted Market Days (http://www.northalsted.com/market_days.php (http://http://www.northalsted.com/market_days.php)), happening on Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10 on Halsted Street between Belmont Avenue and Addison Street. For the 27th year, the festival features more than 400 art, food and drink vendors and nearly 40 musical acts on four stages. Festival hours: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. A $7 donation is requested.

Little Italy, Big Festival: For some authentic Old World flavor, don’t miss the Taylor Street Festa Italiana (http://onestientertainment.com/taylor-street.html (http://http://onestientertainment.com/taylor-street.html)) Friday, Aug. 8-Sunday, Aug. 10. The second annual Little Italy fest takes place at Taylor and Loomis Streets and includes live music, Italian food and beer vendors, bocce, strolling Italian street performers and arts and crafts. The $10 donation benefits University Village Association (http://universityvillageassociation.org/). Festival hours: August 8 : 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.; August 9 : 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.; August 10 : 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Dining Al”pet”sco: No need for a pet sitter or doggie daycare as far as Scoozi! The River North Italian trattoria invites you to dine alfresco with your canine daily from 5:30 p.m. (through September 30). While you can choose from the restaurant’s menu, which features dishes from the many regions of Italy, your best friend has a selection of biscuits, chicken risotto and more. Prices vary. All dogs must be leashed. As you dine, try something from the extensive wine list, which includes over 30 wines by the glass ranging from 1/2 bottles to 3 litre bottles.
