Taste the Feast: Fans of food, rejoice. Taste of Chicago (http://www.tasteofchicago.us) is back, bigger and better than ever. You have the next 10s, from Friday, June 27 through Sunday, July 6, to sample the wares from more than 65 restaurants. Don’t forget about the live music, cooking demos, a wine garden and more. This year there’s also a sports pavilion and an international entertainment pavilion. On Sunday, June 29, work up a Taste-worthy appetite at the Race to Taste 5K Run/2-Mile Walk. This year, take a new route through Chicago's beautiful Grant Park and lakefront. No dogs, alcohol or coolers allowed at the festival.

Grab the Reins: If your usual thrills are failing to do the job these days, try The Harness Racing School at Hawthorne Racecourse (http://www.hawthorneracecourse.com/).
Yes, you really get to take the reins and drive the horse! Two races of five drivers are offered six nights a week (no racing on Mondays). The chariot-style races are a good costume opportunity, too. Try it for corporate parties (race your boss, race your staff), fundraisers (like a pledge walk...but faster), or just a race among friends for bragging rights. Hawthorne also offers live harness racing six days a week for the next several weeks.
